PyDev is a plugin that enables users to use Eclipse for Python and Jython development -- making Eclipse a first class Python IDE -- It comes with many goodies such as code completion, syntax highlighting, syntax analysis, refactor, debug and many others. If you want more details on the provided features, you can check here.
Data on the Semantic Web is semi-structured and does not follow one fixed schema. Faceted browsing is a natural technique for navigating such data, partitioning the information space into orthogonal conceptual dimensions. Current faceted interfaces are ma
Yapps (Yet Another Python Parser System) is an easy to use parser generator that is written in Python and generates Python code. There are several parser generator systems already available for Python, including PyLR, kjParsing, PyBison, and mcf.pars, but I had different goals for my parser. Yapps is simple, is easy to use, and produces human-readable parsers. It is not fast, powerful, or particularly flexible. Yapps is designed to be used when regular expressions are not enough and other parser systems are too much: situations where you may write your own recursive descent parser.
This is a brief introduction to Python for Lisp programmers. (Although it wasn't my intent, Python programers have told me this page has helped them learn Lisp.) Basically, Python can be seen as a dialect of Lisp with "traditional" syntax (what Lisp people call "infix" or "m-lisp" syntax). One message on comp.lang.python said "I never understood why LISP was a good idea until I started playing with python." Python supports all of Lisp's essential features except macros, and you don't miss macros all that much because it does have eval, and operator overloading, and regular expression parsing, so you can create custom languages that way.
The vb2Py project is developing a suite of conversion tools to aid in translating existing Visual Basic projects into Python.
The conversion includes,
· VB code modules translating to Python code modules
· VB classes to Python classes
· VB Forms to PythonCard forms
· VB Projects to PythonCard projects
'NTLM Authorization Proxy Server' (APS) is a proxy software that allows you to authenticate via an MS Proxy Server using the proprietary NTLM protocol. Since version 0.9.5 APS has an ability to behave as a standalone proxy server and authenticate http clients at web servers using NTLM method. It can change arbitrary values in your client's request header so that those requests will look like they were created by MS IE. It is written in Python v1.5.2 language.
CSpace provides a platform for secure, decentralized, user-to-user communication over the internet. The driving idea behind the CSpace platform is to provide a connect(user, service) primitive, similar to the sockets API connect(ip,port). Applications built on top of CSpace can simply invoke connect(user, service) to establish a connection. The CSpace platform will take care of locating the user and creating a secure, nat/firewall friendly connection.
atropine is a screen-scraping library built on top of BeautifulSoup, which helps programmers make assertions about document structure while getting at the data they are interested in.
The Boost Graph Library Python bindings (which we refer to as "BGL-Python") expose the functionality of the Boost Graph Library and Parallel Boost Graph Library as a Python package, allowing one to perform computation-intensive tasks on graphs (or network
Allegra is an innovative library for web peer applications development. It provides a framework for asynchronous network peer programming, a simple stack of Internet standards implementations, and two new network applications: a disruptive metabase peer a
Scapy is a powerful interactive packet manipulation program. It is able to forge or decode packets of a wide number of protocols, send them on the wire, capture them, match requests and replies, and much more.
Pythomnic is a platform for building dynamic networks of reliable network services. It bases its reliability promises on simplicity, redundancy and fault-tolerance.
Fast Artificial Neural Network Library implements multilayer artificial neural networks in C with support for both fully connected and sparsely connected networks.
This is a collection of libraries useful for machine learning and data mining. It requires Python 2.3 or 2.2 and the Orange machine learning framework library, both freely downloadable.
Where possible, creating Web applications — including Ajax-based applications — in a RESTful way avoids a large class of bugs. However, a pitfall of REST (REpresentational State Transfer) is sending duplicate data across similar XMLHttpRequests. This tip shows how the moderate use of session cookies can maintain just enough server-side state to significantly reduce client-server traffic, while still allowing fallback to cookie-free operation.
Disco is an open-source implementation of the Map-Reduce framework for distributed computing. As the original framework, Disco supports parallel computations over large data sets on unreliable cluster of computers.
Delight is an imperative, object-oriented programming language with a Python-like syntax. Internally, it is based on the D programming language. Its major features are:
Python-like syntax
Classes, interfaces and templates
Compiles to efficient native code
Static type-checking
Dependency injection
Built-in logging
Sage lets you build rich, highly functional, cross platform web-enabled desktop applications and applets by simply marking up the UI and attaching JavaScript (or Ruby, Python, etc.) event handlers. You simply point sage to a URL and it downloads the markup and accompanying scripts and renders the application or applet in real-time (the same way a browser renders documents). All that is required to run Sage is a Java Virtual Machine (v1.5 or later, v1.6 preferred).
