Abstract

This study, conducted on the 1994-95 class of first-year students at Dana College, sought to determine if a relationship could be established between the attrition of students from the first to second year and (a) either a lack of familiarity with the college prior to matriculation; or (b) a failure on the part of students to have made financial plans that would enable them to stay longer than just one year. The purpose of the study was to determine if there were any significant differences between students who withdrew and those who re-enrolled for a second year in the areas identified.
