In a first part design and use of a special
tower is described. This tower was
developped in the late seventie9 and based
on the following principles: applicable
for voltage levels between 50 kV and
400 kV, tower heights up to 60 m, reasonable
storage room requirements,limited
weight of individual elements (helicopter
transport) , easy and fast erection, appropriate
for re-use. The advantage of
such a tower is to arrange within a short
period of time a provisional tower replacement
in case of a tower failure due
to any reason. The use of the so-called
emergency tower is manyfold. As a single
steelpole with bolted elements various
tower heights can be chosen. The weight
of individual elements is limited as to
enable helicopter transports. Insulated
crossarms take into account the normally
limited space available.
A second part of this report deals with a
few aspects regarding compacted towerconfiguration
and compact lines in Switzerland.
