Аннотация

This paper describes and discusses the issues related to the development and use of computer-based games for engineering education across a range of countries. It draws on the experience of the authors working together over a number of years in Australia, The Netherlands and the UK and their use of the games in other countries. It describes the difficulties of producing games to fit into different courses (civil engineering, civil engineering management and general engineering) at different years from first to final. It also discusses experience of three different models for running the same game. The paper covers the normal internationalisation problems such as language and engineering culture. It concludes that games provide a means of preparing students for the breadth of problem encountered in a real-life international industry.
