Zusammenfassung

A methodical approach to determining right-of-way width, given several constraints, is described. First a configuration to be tested is selected. Then a type of conductor with a range of diameters is chosen. Power transfer capabilities are computed based on system stability and thermal limits. Then the required rightof- way is computed for each of five constraints: Radio noise, audible noise, electric field, magnetic field and blow-out clearance. A 345kV double circuit is compared to a 199kV 6-phase configuration and two different 550kV configurations are compared.
