After graduating in social sciences and journalism, he received his doctorate in sociology from Goethe-Universität Frankfurt (Goethe University Frankfurt), and his post-doctorate from Université Grenoble (University of Grenoble). He also translated the work of the German sociologist Niklas Luhmann, and coordinated the UNESCO Chair “José Reis” in Scientific Divulgation since 2006.1
