Abstract

The ground state half-lives of the gold isotope Au-196, the mercury isotopes Hg-195,Hg-197,Hg-203, the lead isotope Pb-203, and the half-lives of two isomers in Hg-199 and Pb-204 have been measured with high precision using the photoactivation technique. The gamma -ray activity was counted over several half-lives with high-purity germanium detectors. The measured half-lives are: T-1/2(Au-196)=6.1659+/-0.0006 d; T-1/2(Hg-195)=10.53+/-0.03 h; T-1/2(Hg-197)=64.94+/-0.07 h; T-1/2(Hg-203)=46.6+/-0.1 d; T-1/2(Pb-204)=51.95+/-0.01 h: T-1/2(Hg-199m)=42.67+/-0.09 min; T-1/2(Pb-204m)=1.14+/-0.04 h.
