Some Didactical Variables for the Study of Numerical Sequencesusing a Mathematical Pocket Computer

Abstract

Can technology be used to improve the teaching of analysis, the concepts of limit and of real number in particular? We present and analyse parts of an actually hold Calculus Course on numerical sequences and their limits, in which we tried to implement techniques with strong theoretical background. The idea is to substitute experimental grounded techniques to the å-ä Weierstrass definition for limit and continuity, based on the idea that the sequence terms are supposed to have as many common decimals as wanted. We discuss as didactical variables the choices of the particular sequences presented in the course.
