Abstract

Communication Quarterly has periodically published, typically every twenty-five years, essays which examine the history of the Eastern Communication Association. In this essay, past presidents of the Eastern Communication Association examine the history of the Association from its fiftieth anniversary to its seventy-fifth anniversary. Jeanne M. Lutz provides an introduction and overview of this historical survey. Robert B. Huber examines the 1950's and before, Carroll C. Arnold the 1960 's, John F. Wilson the 1970's, and James W. Chesebro the 1980's.
