Chemie der Erde, one of the oldest journals for geochemistry-related topics, promotes broad interdisciplinary discussion on chemical problems in the geosciences, geoecology and environmental sciences. Numerous contributions by young authors have allowed the journal to retain its "young" scientific profile. Publications addressing interdisciplinary questions are particularly encouraged. The journal, through very personalized consultation and its worldwide distribution, offers entry into the world of international scientific communication. The international journal "Chemie der Erde" publishes original papers, brief news items and surveys of selected topics.

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics exists primarily for dissemination of significant new measurements in experimental thermodynamics and thermophysics including bio-thermodynamics, calorimetry, phase equilibria, equilibrium thermodynamic properties and transport properties. The Journal publishes work relating to gases, liquids, solids, mixtures, solutions, interfaces, including polymers and biological materials, provided that the systems studied are characterised and reproducible. The defining attributes of The Journal are the quality and relevance of the papers published. Authors are expected to describe their methods and present their results in sufficient detail to allow critical assessment of the accuracy claimed. Further, The Journal welcomes theoretical papers reporting on thermodynamics using molecular theory or modeling, provided the relationship with experiment is clearly described. Review articles will also be considered but prospective authors should first consult one of the Editors concerning the suitability of the proposed review. Experimental measurements of a routine nature or those conducted on uncharacterised materials are not accepted.

Since 1921, Organic Syntheses has provided the chemistry community with annual collections of detailed, reliable, and carefully checked procedures for the synthesis of organic compounds. Some procedures describe practical methods for the preparation of specific compounds of interest, while other procedures illustrate important synthetic methods with general utility. Each procedure is written in considerably more detail as compared to typical experimental procedures in other journals, and each reaction and all characterization data has been carefully "checked" for reproducibility in the laboratory of a member of the Board of Editors.

The Chemical Engineering Journal focuses upon three aspects of chemical engineering: chemical reaction engineering, environmental chemical engineering, and materials synthesis and processing. The Chemical Engineering Journal is an international research journal and invites contributions of original and novel fundamental research. The journal aims to provide an international forum for the presentation of original fundamental research, interpretative reviews and discussion of new developments in chemical engineering. Papers which describe novel theory and its application to practice are welcome, as are those which illustrate the transfer of techniques from other disciplines. Reports of carefully executed experimental work, which is soundly interpreted are also welcome. The overall focus is on original and rigorous research results which have generic significance. Within the Chemical Engineering Journal, the Environmental Chemical Engineering section presents papers dealing with topics in environmental chemical and process engineering. Treatment and environmental separation processes, environmental process control, measurement and simulation, clean process technology and waste minimization include the topics which are covered. Papers in which knowledge from other disciplines is integrated with chemical engineering are especially welcome. Within the Chemical Engineering Journal, the Chemical Reaction Engineering section presents papers on a wide range of topics including reaction kinetics, applied catalysis, simulation and optimization of different types of reactors, unsteady-state reactors, multiphase reactors, and fundamental investigations of the processes of heat, mass and momentum transfer that take place along with chemical reaction. Research works addressing critical areas of reactor engineering (e.g. reactor materials, control strategies, reactor safety and environmental issues), and emerging reactor technologies (e.g. membrane reactors, chromatographic reactors, unconventional fluidized beds, electrochemical reactors, micro-reactors, etc.) are particularly welcome. Within the Chemical Engineering Journal, the Materials Synthesis and Processing section presents papers dealing with different aspects of the preparation and characterization of advanced materials. Novel physical and chemical methods of synthesis will be covered, as well as the processes used to obtain materials of different morphologies (particles, films, fibers), and to modify their surface and structural properties, always from a chemical engineering point of view. Manuscripts dealing with micro- and nano-structured materials, and those describing the preparation of composite and hybrid materials with advanced properties are especially welcome. Comments and Proposals: We are interested in receiving comments/feedback on this and our other journals and welcome publication proposals for books, electronic products, new journals and co-operation for existing journals.

Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data is published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); content is published online daily, collected into quarterly online and printed issues (4 issues per year). The objective of the Journal is to provide critically evaluated physical and chemical property data, fully documented as to the original sources and the criteria used for evaluation, preferably with uncertainty analysis. Critical reviews of measurement techniques may also be included if they shed light on the accuracy of available data in a technical area. Papers reporting correlations of data or estimation methods are acceptable only if they are based on critical data evaluation and if they produce “reference data”—the best available values for the relevant properties. The journal is not intended as a publication outlet for original experimental measurements such as those normally reported in the primary research literature, nor for review articles of a descriptive or primarily theoretical nature. One source of contributions to the Journal is The National Standard Reference Data System (NSRDS), which was established in 1963 as a means of coordinating on a national scale the production and dissemination of critically evaluated reference data in the physical sciences. Under the Standard Reference Data Act (Public Law 90-396) the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the U.S. Department of Commerce has the primary responsibility in the Federal Government for providing reliable scientific and technical reference data. The Standard Reference Data Program of NIST coordinates a complex of data evaluation centers, located in university, industrial, and other Government laboratories as well as within NIST, which are engaged in the compilation and critical evaluation of numerical data on physical and chemical properties retrieved from the world scientific literature. The participants in this NIST-sponsored program, together with similar groups under private or other Government support which are pursuing the same ends, compose the National Standard Reference Data System. The primary focus of the NSRDS is on well-defined physical and chemical properties of well-characterized materials or systems. An effort is made to assess the accuracy of data reported in the primary research literature and to prepare compilations of critically evaluated data which will serve as reliable and convenient reference sources for the scientific and technical community.
