tranzit is a network working independently in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia since 2002.
The network has a polycentric structure as a collective of autonomous local units cooperating across various borderlines – between nations, languages, media, mentalities and histories.
FORMER WEST is a long-term international research, education, publishing, and exhibition project (2008–2014), which from within the field of contemporary art and theory: (1) reflects upon the changes introduced to the world (and thus to the so-called West) by the political, cultural, artistic, and economic events of 1989; (2) engages in rethinking the global histories of the last two decades in dialogue with post-communist and postcolonial thought; and (3) speculates about a “post-bloc” future that recognizes differences yet evolves through the political imperative of equality and the notion of “one world.”
The VVP AVU (Academic Research Centre of the Academy of Fine Arts - "AVU Research Centre") is a centre committed to academic research, processing of original documentation, and critical evaluation and reinterpretation of Czech fine arts from 1945 to the present, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary study.
“Reflection Center for Suspended Histories. An Attempt” is a website for an exhibition, of one of the two official pavilions representing Romania at the 55th edition of La Biennale di Venezia.
The Project is a partnership between three organisations from Albania (T.I.C.A., Tirana), Bosnia and Herzegovina (SCCA/pro.ba, Sarajevo) and Serbia (kuda.org, Novi Sad), designed as a long term research and production project with multidisciplinary and multimedia approaches, focused on artistic practices and different media phenomena (individual and collective) and their perception, valuation and influence on the experiences of transition societies from perspectives of different generations. Socio-political images of those three countries are only the starting points for the project, which in a broad sense attempts to encompass past, present and future situations in community, transitional transformations of individual and collective identities in general, critically observing the Balkan’s position towards Europe and vice versa.
