Abstract
Food in Middle Age has been studied and reinterpreted. The vision of a time marked almost exclusively by food privation is beeing abandoned and more elaborated descriptions, reflecting the variety of conditions and periods experienced by different groups, have been attempted. This work reunites information about food infile:///Users/ritaramosyriotinto/Desktop/john snow e colera.pdf Portugal during Middle Age, seeking a differential comprehension of the several forms it assumes. We focus on common features of food in Europe during that period, general characteristics of food in medieval Portugal, most frequent foods and nutritional adequacy, culinary techniques, utensils and instruments and meals' characteristics.
