Abstract
As more and more areas of science make use of open source software, legal research seeks to reconcile various open source licenses (OSS) (which may be used in a single research project) and explores solutions to allow exploitation of software outcomes in a license-compliant way. In this paper, we consider some licensing implications of open source licenses along with solutions on how to distribute software developments in a license compatible way. The steps undertaken in course of defining a license and checking license compatibility are demonstrated by a case study.
