Abstract
The half-lives of the platinum isotopes Pt-189,Pt-191,Pt-197 and of the
4-day isomer in Pt-195m have been measured with high, precision using
the photoactivation technique. The gamma-ray activity was counted over
several half-lives with a high-purity germanium detector. The measured
half-lives are: T-1/2(Pt-189) = 12.1 +/- 1.5 h; T-1/2(Pt-191) = 2.862
+/- 0.007 d; T-1/2(Pt-197) = 19.96 +/- 0.05 h; T-1/2(Pt-195m) = 4.0104
+/- 0.0047 d.
