We show that MWCNTs inhibit osteoclastic bone resorption in vivo and that MWCNTs inhibit osteoclastic differentiation and suppressed a transcription factor essential for osteoclastogenesis in vitro. These results suggest that MWCNTs have beneficial effects on bones when they are used as biomaterials.
