Аннотация

The aim of the present work is to study the effect of surface temperature on the foulingrate. To carry out this study, an experimental setup has been designated andconstructed. A Perspex test tube of 300 cm length and 5.53 cm inner diameter withthree electric heaters fixed at the center is used as a test tube. Water with a solidparticle concentration of 1gm/lit is used as a test fluid. The experimental runs havebeen carried out under different surface temperatures (from 55oC to 95oC) with aconstant flow velocity of 0.08 m/s for about 280 hrs to reach the asymptotic fouling. The obtained results are represented in a graphical form and, show that the surfacetemperature has a great effect on the fouling resistance specially in the temperaturerange from 55oC to 71oC. This effect seams to be smaller when the surfacetemperature increases.
