Zusammenfassung

Modeling is a crucial step in database modeling, as it helps define the model, which serves as a guide for good implementation. The quality of the model determines the outcome. Hence, normalization is applied for that purpose to validate the model. In addition, in the database modeling and management process, the organization, case study, provides rules of management that give a global view, allowing analysts to obtain a model, that is not always the optimal one. As a result, validation must be performed to optimize the model and efficiently respond to the users' needs. Moreover, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, two schools of thought among scholars exist in which one supports conceptual validation, while the other supports logical validation. This article aims to compare these trends and suggest best practices after scientific reflection. Findings show that logical validation has limitations in obtaining a coherent and implementable model compared to conceptual validation in some cases of study while conceptual validation responds in almost all problems implying validation for the database design.
