Abstract
Investigated were temporal changes of publication characteristics in educational research as well as how these characteristics are associated with the traditions of different academic fields and aspects of funding. The main goal was to identify differences in the central characteristics of educational research projects’ publications. To this end, the publication output of 270 projects with educational, sociological or psychological backgrounds, with different funding sources and from two different time periods was examined. Results reveal specific funding- and subject-related differences, in particular with regard to peer review status, publication type, productivity, networking, multiple authorship and international focus.
