Novel drug delivery systems for delivery of herbal drugs possesses several advantages over conventional formulations. It includes enhancement of solubility, bioavailability, and protection from toxicity, etc. The herbal drugs can be used in a more upright course with enhanced efficacy by incorporating them into suitable dosage forms. This can be achieved by designing novel drug delivery systems for such drugs. Such systems are polymeric nanoparticles, nanocapsules, phytosomes, animations, microsphere, etc. The present article highlights the current condition of the development of novel herbal formulations and summarizes their type of active components, biological activity, and applications of novel formulations.
