An appropriate diagnosis of any head and neck condition itself is a challenge in the field of dentistry and when it comes to diagnosing conditions with a unilateral presentation, it becomes a challenge for the diagnostician. Proper knowledge of the head and neck anatomy and the trigeminal system is essential for categorizing unilateral conditions during the formulation of a differential diagnosis. Differential diagnosis of such conditions helps in treatment planning accordingly.
