Kinetic Theory of Particles, Weakly Interacting With Medium, within the Framework of Reduced Description Method

. Abstract Book of the XXIII IUPAP International Conference on Statistical Physics, Genova, Italy, (9-13 July 2007)

Abstract

Reduced description method is modified for consideration of spatially inhomogeneous states of particles, weakly interacting with a hydrodynamic medium. It is shown that the particles subsystem has both kinetic and hydrodynamic stages of evolution. According to basics of reduced description method, the particles subsystem is described by one-particle distribution function on the kinetic stage and by particles density on the hydrodynamic stage. The hydrodynamic medium is described by a set of five hydrodynamic parameters on both evolution stages. The coupled system of motion equations for reduced description parameters on both evolution stages is obtained. These equations can be used for description of such systems as neutrons propagating in the hydrodynamic medium without multiplication and capture. Sound propagation and dissipation are also studied. Moreover, the long-wave fluctuations evolution in such systems is considered.
