Abstract
abstract: XML is a new "language" for creating electronic texts,
especially for the Web. When used in an encoding structure called TEI,
it offers the humanities extensive analytical possibilities. Although
the special needs of theater and drama reveal some limitations in TEI,
in general XML will probably become very popular for humanities texts.
