Zusammenfassung

The article discusses the arguments concerning the limited role of academic libraries in the development of information literacy education in the U.S. Patricia Senn Breivik observes that school campuses do not welcome the role despite the educational justification for library instruction and program. The Association of College Research and Libraries argues that libraries are not obliged to participate, support and achieve educational missions of their institutions.
