Our approach is based on the deployment of modern e-learning tools in order to give students easy access to data of modern particle physics experiments. It has been implemented in the form of a novel course at ETH Zurich, which relies on a Web site developed within the ”Interactive Physics and Education Project (IPEP)” at the Institute for Particle Physics. We give a summary of the goals of this project, the didactical advantages of our approach and the experience gained so far.
