Zusammenfassung

Churchill and Usagi (1972) previously demonstrated the general utility of the equation for correlation where the asymptotic solutions or limiting correlations forlarge and small values of the independent variable and n is an arbitrary constant. The use of this equationis extended herein to cases where the asymptotic behavior is not known a priori. A general procedureis described for the construction of correlations in this form. Such correlations are usually quiteaccurate since only the variance from the two limiting solutions or correlations need be accounted for.The extended procedure appears to have a very wide range of applicability. The simple and standardizedform of the correlations is particularly well suited for use in subsequent derivations and in computer-aided design. Several examples are presented.
