Towards Scientific and Interoperable Earth Observation Exploitation Platforms
J. Eberle, M. Schwinger, und H. Zwenzner. Proceedings of the 2021 conference on Big Data from Space, Seite 89--92. Publications Office of the European Union, (Mai 2021)
Zusammenfassung
Earth Observation (EO) exploitation platforms allow users to bring their algorithms and processing components to infrastructures where big EO data collections and compute resources are available. Working on different platforms, interoperability of these needs to be ensured - not only relevant for service specifications, but also for the contents of data inventories and metadata. The interactive development of algorithms and the possibility to share code and data with other users are further feedbacks from scientific users. Additionally, data processing needs to be reproducible and transferable to multiple EO exploitation platforms. In this paper, existing technologies and specifications for data discovery, access, and processing have been analyzed with focus on their usage in two connected cloud infrastructures and related to initial user feedbacks collected from scientists.
