The paper deals with a research project, aimed at
both, the selection of test procedures for evaluation of
polymers and of a Silicon Rubber (SR) for composite
hollow insulators for outdoor service use. The investigations
ore focused on the validation of the ageing
resistance at simultaneous voltage ond pollution layer
stressing. To toke account of the dynamic behaviour
of SR, standardized and non.standardized procedures
are applied to improve the transferability of the
test results to the performance under outdoor conditions.
The test procedures ore discussed with corr&
spending results. The investigated SR-types were
RTV2- and LSR-sytems.
