Economic efficiency of mobile terminals in hospitals
A. Rashid, und T. Högler. 16th annual Information Resources Management Association (IRMA) International Conference, San Diego (USA), Idea Group Publishing, (2005)
Zusammenfassung
In times of low budgets and restraints concerning personnel it is important to start adapting processes to new, money- and time-saving technological possibilities. Therefore, a public hospital in Germany started a project in which mobile devices were adopted in order to support health personnel and minimize the number of errors occurring during information exchange with physicians and other hospital stations. Our study shows that in spite of high expenses for the purchase of the equipment the mobile system proved its economic efficiency within several weeks.
