The City Climate Challenge for 2050: Your city - your responsibility
Brook Lyndhurst. Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, (2006)
Abstract
This report explores some of the ways in which urban areas in the UK may need to adapt and change in order to meet the challenge of climate change and, in particular, deliver a 60% reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 2050. The work draws on various sources of information including recent developments in scenario planning, the wider climate change literature and formal statistical data sources. Using these, we present three exploratory case studies which are intended to both provoke debate and discussion and illustrate the possible transition paths to a low carbon future.
