Abstract
The pape1· proposes the resftlts of a thcof'etlcal and
experimental work aimed at W!r/fying the mechanical
stresses during short·circuit conditions on substations
Wucturcs and components for currents highef' than 50
M (present design limit for £NEl 's 380 kV
aubstatlons).
Rigid busbars systems and flexible connections,
equipped wllh twin or trip/ e bundle conductor, were
analyzed by means of computer models and short·
clrc11lt tests.
Results allowed to characterize suitable solutiom for
1/ie connections examined.
