Abstract
This report consideres the influences of electrical
and mechanical parameters on the construction of
compact overhead lines. The effects on erection and
transmission cost aswell as the impact on the
environment due to electric and magnetic fields,
radio interference and audible noise are investigated.
Design and visibility of the adopted line
constructions are evaluated by special computer
programme.
For 110 kV and 380 kV lines tower configurations
and values for span lengths are found, which form
an optimum in construction cost and visibility. In
populated areas, however, the other environmental
impacts may prevent the application of such an
optimum design.
