Zusammenfassung

This study concerns the design of adaptive courseware for individual learning. We applied Kolb’s learning styles to support adaption and to reinforce individual learning. Existing Web-based courseware provides various instruction paths. However Learners are provided with the same instruction content with little consideration of the individual learner’s learning style. Courseware is therefore not a system that encourages individual learning; it fails to provide different instruction methods for differing learning styles. This proposed system provides instruction content based on the most effective instruction method for that learner by taking into consideration his or her learning style. We applied Kolb’s learning style that is most widely used in off line education. We presented a storyboard that applied Kolb’s learning styles to computer encryption learning for college student computer education. Our proposed adaptive courseware will contribute to effective learning considering learner’s individual differences.
