Abstract
This is an introduction into scattering theory. Topics
include: classical scattering by a central force; quantum
scattering by a central force; elastic scattering phase
shifts; semi-classical elastic scattering; general theory of
inelastic collisions; quantum inelastic transition
probabilities; semi-classical models; the semi-classical
$S$-matrix; reactive scattering; continuum wave functions;
Green's Functions; semi-classical connection formulae; curve
crossing in the momentum representation, and elements of
classical mechanics. Emphasis is on the derivation of analytic
results.
