Journal of the Construction Division, 99 (1): 81-92 (July 1973)

Abstract

The game was developed as an aid to the teaching of network analysis techniques and to emphasize the importance of resource allocation. The teams work on a project which is divided into activities each of which requires specified types of labor, equipment, and materials before it can be completed. The players must schedule the activities and allocate resources. Assessment of player performance is made in terms of profit and project duration. A description is given of game structure and the procedure used for playing the game. An example from an actual game session illustrates its use. The final assessment is an important part of a management game, the value of analysis sessions is examined. The game has been found to be a useful teaching tool; this can be attributed to some extent to its comparative simplicity.
