Abstract

This paper discusses and proposes criteria for the electrical and mechanical designs and application of phase-to-phase spacers which are attracting increasing attention as a device useful for preventing the conductor galloping. 66-kv porcelain phase-to.phase spacers which were developed on the basis of such criteria were installed and tested on test and operating lines, to confirm their effectiveness in preventing the conductor galloping and interphase nashover by sleet jump.
