Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been working off-and-on on a little side project. The idea is that there are lots of people that are not in a position to visit a university or that don’t have a public library with ‘access’ at their disposal but that do need to be able to read scientific papers.
Twitter has suspended the account of Sci-Hub, a site that provides access to paywalled academic journal articles. The suspension comes in the midst of a court case in India between publishers and the site.
The manner in which Aaron had been prosecuted offers a sharp contrast to the manner in which our legal system dealt with corporate America after the 2008 financial crisis, where there were no prosecutions of top corporate figures.
