In Luxemburg hat der Rat der Europäischen Union der EU-Kommission das Mandat für das geplante Transatlantische Handels- und Investitionsabkommen zwischen der EU und den USA (TTIP) erteilt. Vermutlich werden am Rande des in Irland tagenden G8-Gipfels die Verhandlungen offiziell starten. Weniger Schranken für den Handel bedeuten gleichzeitig weniger Schutz für Umwelt und Verbraucher. Davon profitieren werden vor allem Konzerne und Unternehmen.
