Wikileaks hat 17 Geheimpapiere zum geplanten Dienstleistungsabkommen TiSA publik gemacht, das TTIP ergänzen soll – und Datenschutz und Netzneutralität unterwandert.
Seit Juni 2013 wird das transatlantische Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der EU und den USA verhandelt. Die Kritiker befürchten einen Abbau bestehender Standards im Umwelt- und Verbraucherschutz und bei den Arbeitnehmerrechten. Die Befürworter rechnen mit großen Wohlfahrtsgewinnen für beide Seiten. Tatsächlich sollte die Bedeutung des Abkommens aber nicht überschätzt werden, da die Handelsbeziehungen sowie der Austausch von Dienstleistungen und Direktinvestitionen mit den USA für die einzelnen EU-Länder weitaus weniger wichtig sind als ihre wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen innerhalb der EU.
