Professor Raven was formerly Reader in Social and Cultural History at the University of Oxford, and Fellow of Mansfield College, Oxford; Fellow and Director of Studies in History at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and Munby Fellow in Bibliography and Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge.
