Wikipedia runs on the open source software MediaWiki. This in turn runs on top of MySQL and PHP, as well as possibly Linux and Apache. My laptop runs Windows XP Professional SP2 Tablet PC Edition, so running Linux and Apache just wasn’t going to happen.
