Thanks to extraordinary credibility Slavonia had, in 1532 he was appointed to the post of the Bishop of Pecs. Due to his diplomatic commitments he spent little time in Pecs, so his brother, Matijaš Brodarić, governed in his name instead. However, neither he could stop neighboring landlords, Bálint Török and Pavle Bakić, from constant threats. He became bishop of Vacz in 1538.
