YARI is a comprehensive tool suite to debug, spy, spider, inspect and navigate Eclipse based application GUIs (Workbench or RCP).
If you want to know how your swt ui is built up or which plugins contribute to your eclipse workbench YARI will offer you all the information needed. It allows you to have a deep look into the swt or eclipse internals. Search an id for a menu contribution, find a contributing plugin or debug the swt/jface ui (e.g. figure out layout problems) is a core feature of the tool.
Overview
Vexi is a platform for creating and publishing Graphical User Interfaces that can be used over the Internet or an intranet. It features a very simple and powerful syntax based on xml and javascript, a set of complete, extensible, themable widgets, and a sandbox-like security model to protect users.
Why Vexi?
Vexi is designed to overcome the flaws of other Internet application platform implementations.
Vexi applications are written in a combination of XML and JavaScript. The XML layout makes UI structure simple to understand, and the JavaScript provides a powerful way of manipulating a UI to make it dynamic. Do not confuse JavaScript with the HTML DOM - the latter gives JavaScript a bad name because of it’s over complicated nature. JavaScript is very easy to understand and work with. And whilst XML is a far reaching standard, the context in which it is put into practise with Vexi makes it very easy to understand and work with.
JTreeMap releases 2 components:
* a Java Swing component JTreeMap and a demo app.
* a SWT/Eclipse Plugin component, KTreeMap
Furthermore, the JTreeMap library contains an applet that could be used out of the box as it can read data in from a file on the web site, see this example.
Google Gears (BETA) is an open source browser extension that enables web applications to provide offline functionality using the following JavaScript APIs:
Store and serve application resources locally
Store data locally in a fully-searchable relational database
Run asynchronous Javascript to improve application responsiveness
Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation, and interactions. It is used by students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists for learning, prototyping, and production. It is created to teach fundamentals of computer programming within a visual context and to serve as a software sketchbook and professional production tool. Processing is developed by artists and designers as an alternative to proprietary software tools in the same domain.
xmonad is a tiling window manager for X. Windows are arranged automatically to tile the screen without gaps or overlap, maximising screen use. Window manager features are accessible from the keyboard: a mouse is optional. xmonad is extensible in Haskell, allowing for powerful customisation. Custom layout algorithms, key bindings and other extensions may be written by the user in config files. Layouts are applied dynamically, and different layouts may be used on each workspace. Xinerama is fully supported, allowing windows to be tiled on several physical screens.
genesis is an open-source framework that aims to bring simplicity and productivity to enterprise application development, ensuring scalability, robustness and testability of your software. The main goal is to simplify the development of business components and the construction of complex graphical interfaces with minimum effort for developers. To accomplish its mission, genesis combines several open-source frameworks in a completely transparent way for developers, through the use of AOP (Aspect Oriented Programming). Our main challenge is to allow people with little knowledge of the Java platform to develop robust applications fast, without requiring them to learn several new technologies and complex concepts. We invite you to experience our approach to the problem.
The Riena platform will be the foundation for building multi-tier enterprise client/server applications. As such Riena will broaden the usage of the service oriented architecture of OSGi/Equinox by providing access to local and remote services in a transparent way. Using this uniform programming model, the components of Riena and the business components of the enterprise application can be developed regardless of their target location. Components are later easily placed on client or server depending on the business requirements.
As an example the Riena user interface components will support a business process oriented user interface visualization and navigation metaphor which can be used as alternative to the default workbench layout.
Sanaware Java Docking is a library for managing the windows of a Java Swing application.
With the Sanaware Java Docking Framework you can:
* Organize the windows of your application in panels, split panes, tabs, lines, grids and floating windows.
* Reorganize the windows of your application by drag and drop.
* Minimize and maximize your windows.
* Save your workspace.
* Organize the toolbars, buttons, and actions of your application.
The Doolin framework allows the rapid development of Swing applications. It uses the Spring framework as a support for its configuration and extensibility.
