Seit der Insolvenz von Frankfurter Rundschau und dem Aus der FTD überschlagen sich wieder einmal die Analytiker. Die eine einen, wie Werner D’Inka, Herausgeber der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung, verdammen das Internet. Die anderen, wie Wolfgang Michal, wiederholen die zehn Jahre alte Litanei, die Verlage hätten das Internet verschlafen. Ich glaube, dass beide Seiten falsch liegen.
Weder die Turbulenzen der schwarz-gelben Regierung noch die Finanzkrise haben den klassischen linken (und linksliberalen) Zeitungen neue Leser zugetrieben. Woran liegt’s?

Die französische Internet-Zeitung Mediapart deckte die Bettencourt-Affäre und andere Skandale auf und wird dafür von den Politikern des Landes gehasst. Die Inhalte von Mediapart bekommen die Nutzer nur gegen Bezahlung. Kann Paid Content also doch rentabel sein? (Von Stefan Ulrich)
