Über das geplante EU-USA-Freihandelsabkommen wird zwar viel diskutiert. Die Frage, ob die EU überhaupt die nötige Rechtsetzungskompetenz hat, bleibt jedoch meist unberücksichtigt. Felix Ekardt meint, dass neben den Organen der EU auch die nationalen Parlamente in die Ratifikation einbezogen werden müssten. Darüber allerdings könnte das Abkommen kippen.
