Latin epics of the New Testament, Juvencus, Sedulius, Arator

. Oxford University Press, New York, (2006)

Abstract

Exploring the way in which early Christians engaged with the Roman intellectual elite and its sophisticated Graeco-Roman tradition, this book examines the works of Juvencus, Sedulius and Arator, and shows how they repackaged the New Testament as epic, to try to make a bridge between two very different cultures.
