Jews and Christians in Late Roman Palestine: Towards a New Chronology

. The Biblical Archaeologist, 51 (2): 80--96 (1988)

Abstract

It has long been assumed that Palestine experienced the same political and social disintegration in the third and fourth centuries C.E. as the Roman world in general. The growing realization, however, that this is not the case makes it necessary to revise our understanding of the region's chronology for this period.
