Even though the task management problem of knowledge workers is already known for a long time and numerous attempts were made to solve it, most people still suffer from a lack of appropriate task management support and many software tools and methodologies are abandoned soon after people started using them. This leads to the question how a Task Management System from a socio-technical perspective has to be designed to drive adoption and to increase performance of individuals. Following the design science approach the proposed research aims at developing a design theory for Task Management Systems.
