This review integrates current knowledge on assessment and management strategies to prevent falls in older people living in the community. It summarizes known risk factors for falls in this population and presents assessment strategies that can be used to assess the risk of falls. It discusses the management of risks and interventions to reduce falls among older people in the community, as well as future directions and promising approaches. A fantastic new training video has been created by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Children’s Therapy Team, to help highlight the importance of good postural management.
Parents will be fully supported when watching the training video by their physiotherapist or occupational therapist, due to the hard hitting message the video delivers.
