La crisis en la Comisión Nacional de Acreditación (CNA) ha sido clave para acrecentar la desconfianza de los jóvenes con un sistema que no garantiza la calidad de su educación. Todas las instituciones que han sido investigadas por acreditaciones fraudulentas y lucro han registrado bajas considerables en sus matrículas de primer año para 2013, al punto de que al menos 36 carreras se han cerrado por falta de interesados. CIPER recorrió las sedes en Santiago de cada una de esas instituciones y constató en terreno que, mientras la fiscalía y el Ministerio de Educación indagan las irregularidades, los jóvenes se muestran reticentes a inscribirse en establecimientos cuestionados.
El ingreso de las federaciones de estudiantes de las universidades privadas a la Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech) podría transformarse en uno de los hitos de este año para esta organización universitaria.
En el marco de la reunión que realiza la Confech en La Serena, el presidente de la FECh, Gabriel Boric, informó que se aprobó el ingreso de las universidades privadas B. O´Higgins, De Las Américas (Concepción) y Viña del Mar.
“Queremos tener una posición respecto a la educación superior, por lo menos a tener el derecho básico de decir si o no”, afirma el presidente de la federación de estudiantes de la Universidad Bernardo O’higgins (Feubo) Gary Pasten, quien ya confirmó –al consultar a sus bases- el ingreso a la Confech.
El ministro de Educación se reunió hoy con los rectores de las 26 universidades privadas acreditadas, los que, a su vez, le solicitaron que los convoque al menos dos veces al año a una reunión en conjunto con el Consejo de Rectores.
Rector de la U. Adolfo Ibáñez dice que "no es necesario romper el Consejo de Rectores ni modificar su financiamiento, simplemente sería una instancia de convenciones parciales".
El rector de la UAB señaló que "el ideal sería que el estado se hiciera cargo de la brecha entre los aranceles de referencia y efectivos, sobre todo con la gente más pobre y no sacarse el pan de la boca".
Una merma importante en las cifras de confianza que los jóvenes tienen hacia este sector de la educación superior demostró el Índice de Confianza Pública dado a conocer este martes. Una cifra que se suma a las bajas en matrículas y el cierre de carreras en algunas de las instituciones cuestionadas. Analistas y dirigentes estudiantiles de los planteles investigados aseguran que esto se explica por las irregularidades conocidas y al lucro.
La Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech) realizó ayer una nueva jornada de reunión, durante la cual ratificó las movilizaciones del sábado 21 y miércoles 25 de abril e integró entre sus filas, además, a cuatro nuevas universidades privadas.
Una de las aristas del proceso de reformulación de la Confech, es la incorporación de universidades privadas al plantel de estudiantes. La reestructuración de la orgánica y forma de trabajo de la representación del estudiantado universitario, continuará con un congreso refundacional que se realizará durante los próximos meses.
El presidente del Colegio de Profesores, Jaime Gajardo, apuntó a la educación superior privada la responsabilidad por la mala formación con que salen de sus carreras los estudiantes de pedagogía, deficiencia que fue registrada por la prueba Inicia.

El diputado Mario Venegas (DC) llamó al Ministerio de Educación para que amplíe las auditorias e investigaciones al resto de las universidades privadas, tal como ocurre con la Universidad del Mar.

Ante la crisis de la Universidad del Mar, diputados de oposición presentaron un Proyecto de Ley que entrega facultades al Ministerio de Educación para intervenir en crisis de las universidades privadas, asegura los derechos de los alumnos, académicos y funcionarios y permite dar continuidad académica a los centros intervenidos.
