Die Pläne der EU im Kampf gegen Kindesmissbrauchsinhalte stoßen auf Kritik. Mail- und Messenger-Dienste sollen künftig die Nachrichten aller Nutzerinnen und Nutzer anlasslos nach verbotenen Inhalten durchsuchen. Eine Praxis, die nicht mit den Grundrechten vereinbar ist, glaubt Medienrechtler Stephan Dreyer.
Der Deutsche Journalisten-Verband wendet sich gegen Pläne der EU-Kommission, die Betreiber von Chatdiensten wie WhatsApp zur automatisierten Speicherung und Durchleuchtung privater Nachrichten zu verpflichten.
Gemeinsam mit 44 anderen Organisationen fordern wir die EU-Kommission auf, den Schutz digitaler Rechte und Freiheiten zu achten, denn nur so kann die Gesetzgebung zur Bekämpfung von Kindesmissbrauch wirksam und verhältnismäßig werden.
Jetzt ist es raus: Die EU-Kommission will die Chatkontrolle einführen – und damit das größte Projekt zur anlasslosen Massenüberwachung seit Langem. Es braucht schnell Protest, damit das Vorhaben noch verhindert wird. Ein Kommentar.
